Where the sole of one shoe scrapes against the upper of the other as you walk. Sponge it down with a mild solution of soap flakes – the stuff you get for washing delicates.
It’s good to test a less visible area, say the back of the heel, and if you’re happy, sponge the whole surface down but don’t over-wet. Rinse and pat dry before drying naturally away from direct heat.
For the shiniest finish, don’t bother with fancy products: just spray with furniture polish and buff off with a soft cotton cloth.
