Sadly, there’s very little that can be done (it’s caused by the water being too hot or the spin too fast).
One thing to try is rewashing, using conditioner this time, and stretching back into shape while the jumper is damp and the fibres are more relaxed.
I always wash my woollies in the machine (I hate all that rinsing by hand!), but strictly on the wool cycle only.
